Lech-Lecha: "For forth, yourself"
Genesis 12:1 - 17:27

Upon a journey

A holy journey

G-d sent Abram

And the miraculous trek began with a simple step

With Abram trusting his L-rd to go into a strange land

Unknown, uncharted

And Abram walked with great hope and promise
yet also met uncharted depths of sorrow

But the hinge that held these doors open was his faith

He prayed to the G-d on High
and never lost sight of the One
who called him to this place

Through adversities in the desert

G-d spoke to Abram to trust and to seek

And Abram reached deep within himself
to discover such fortitude

Circumcising himself as a covenant to G-d
as a sign to all future generations

Abram once more trusted and walked with faith
and here with HaShem’s gift of his new name

Abraham placed his hand upon Ishmael

Knowing indeed

With G-d all things are possible
