Yitro: “Jethro”
Exodus 18:1 - 20:23

Upon the mountain of the L-rd
blanketed in silken clouds of smoke

A humble servant met his guiding force

The face of a deity who lead His children

In countless hours

Prayerful days
as they searched for a home sought by ancestors

So a people cast as simple folk stood silent
eyes cast upon the rumble from jagged cliffs

Where the shepherd had climbed

To lay himself
and the prayers of his people

Before the ever-circling soul of their G-d

In vast arrays of color and sound
the two exchanged their holy union

With L-rd carving before His son

Not laws made to recoil the mind
but hopes to guide the soul

To name them the Chosen
in the humble hearts of G-d’s people
