Tetzaveh: “You Shall Command”
Exodus 27:20 - 30:10

Just as the summer rains did fall
the L-rd’s people came to praise Him

Out of His midst the echoing voice from On High fell upon the shoulders of those
chosen to serve G-d’s holy way

And so upon the ears of Aaron and his sons
such a melody played

With great care they were to construct vestments Breastplates

And chains of gold

Each to be worn with reverence and prayer
where the Creator placed a prelude

That celebrated a song composed within

The dawning of an ancient tradition
in serving the L-rd

Proclaiming His ways with torches illuminated and sacrifices offered in flame

Given this sacramental moment

In the holiness of harmony’s song
