Shlach: “Send for yourself”
Numbers 13:1 - 15:41

Commandments and laws

What was to be done
with grain and cattle
spices and fruits

Before all the people of Israel

And time and again Moses spoke to the L-rd

How to pray and how to sacrifice

When to move the Tent

How long to remain steadfast

And of course now with woven heart
place fringes of blue upon their garments

Today

Tomorrow

Throughout all time

A cord of blue hanging freely from each corner

Reminding every heart of Heaven’s woven colors

A tapestry designed by the L-rd

Of the commandments handed down

And of the heart G-d found in these being followed

A pause

A reflection

Each time the thread of blue brushed the hand

Caressed the eye

Of all the L-rd of Hosts
had sewn for the children of Israel
