“Pinchas" * And the L-rd was a giving G-d Who had lead His people out of the bondage of Egypt
In morning sun and evening cloud Gracious and forgiving Revealing and leading And this same Creator asked to be honored
What was to be brought Him each day Evening Sabbath Weekly Monthly And upon special occasions Whether bull or lamb with no blemish Crops from the earth Or incense so sweet Each was a gift from human hands
To the One who first gave us life Renewed with each birth Not so much a sacrifice as a gift of heart Between two beings enraptured in love * Son of Eleazar and grandson of Aaron Rabbi Tad Berga (Rabbi Tad Berga is a published writer and poet who holds an MA from the University of Oxford, England, the MTS from Duke, and his rabbinical ordination from the Rabbinical Seminary. He is a board certified chaplain and bereavement counselor who currently serves Seasons Hospice in Pinellas, Florida. )
