Vayelech: "And he went"
Deuteronomy 31:1-31:30

One hundred twenty years he remained faithful
following the pillar of fire wherever it lead

In smoke and cloud

Plagues and parted sea

With wooden staff he longed to serve the Voice
that came to him so long ago

Time and again they spoke on the mountain

It's rumbling evidence of their tempo and dance

And from a bush unconsumed by the fire

To tablets etched in flame

The humble man
once a son of pharaoh

Took off his sandals
knowing he stood on holy ground

Communing with the Great I Am

The Almighty God

The Giver of Life

Together they had traversed as one

And as Moses prepared to breath his last

Writing his final communication with the L-rd

And praying as always

Deeply from his heart
