Before them lay the land of Canaan

But not just land

Not only green and fertile earth before them to see
but soon to be known as a land called home

For G-d drew before Moses boundaries fair

To the north encompassing the Great Sea
and mount called Hor

Zedad and Shepham to the east true

By lot

And portion

Each would receive
their fair share of the land below

Theirs to plow and seed this spring

Theirs to reap and harvest next fall

Imagine a land before their eyes

Given by G-d
as promised

Revealed

With boundaries around

To the west and the south

Not just land
but a promise called home
